U17/U19 Moguls
With a challenging but excellent training site on Howelsen, the U17/U19 skiers have been steadily improving their mogul and jumping skills since mid-November. And they got to see where they stand with their first competitions this past week-end.

It was their first time on a full, two jump mogul course for the season and although challenging, they rose to the occasion. Inspired by the Steamboat HP skiers, Landon Wendler and Maggie Ryan, who took the wins on singles day, the U17/U19 skiers pushed themselves down the seemingly never ending course on Ambush at Winter Park. Xander Tatar-Brown had his best finish to date, placing 2nd in the U17 category. Riley Hodges won the U19 age group, and placed 5th overall. Anabel Ayad earned 3rd in U15 and 9th overall. Carina Creamer placed 13th, Ella Walker was 14th, Megan Faherty was 31st and Katie McGlaflin was 35th.

On duals day, Landon Wendler again took the gold and Maggie Ryan earned the silver. Ella Walker earned the next top spot for a Steamboat athlete, placing 8th place for the day. With fast runs on erratic and difficult mogul lines, all of the athletes pushed themselves and increased their comfort zones.

Youth Development

It’s a girl thing started on Sunday!! Epically beautiful day to shred the fresh snow.

Epic Powder day for the U10s! We’ve had seven days on skis! We are rolling into our third week of Tuesday night practice at Howelsen and our Saturday full ski day at Steamboat mountain. Skiing with your kids has been fantastic!

The U8’s also had an epic powder day last week; this photo sums their day up!

Sam, Valentina, and Jackson had fun skiing before training started, and then joining coach Evan on Howelsen Hill!
