“It’s a Girl Thing” Mountain Bike (6th grade & up)
Two 3-week programs that teach middle school and high school girls (based on the upcoming school year) the skills of mountain biking and the fun of riding with their peers. The program is for girls with an interest in learning more about mountain biking, participating in group rides and a desire to put in some effort. The program takes place mainly on trails around Steamboat such as Spring Creek, Emerald Mountain, and Mad Creek, Ridge/Rotary and Bear River Park. Athletes will learn the importance of stewardship and fundamental trail maintenance while working on designated trail work days in addition to the scheduled training sessions. Groups organized by age and ability. Groups will meet at Howelsen Hill or designated trailheads.
Minimum equipment requirements: A 26-29” mountain bike with gears and handbrakes, bike helmet, bike gloves, sunglasses, water, snack, spare tube (the same size as your athlete’s tire!!)
Beneficial equipment: Hydration pack and bike shorts

- Session 1: Wednesday & Friday, June 15 - July 1, 8:30-11:00am
- Session 2: Wednesday & Friday, July 13 - July 29, 8:30-11:00am
COST: $295/session, $345 after May 15
SSWSC athletic development program for summer 2022 that complement It’s a Girl Thing: Beginner or Intermediate Skateboarding, FunFit (ages 10-12), and Trampoline.
