U12 Ski Jumping, ages 10-12

U12 Ski Jumping, ages 10-12

U12 Ski Jumping is a beginner to intermediate Jumping and Nordic Combined program that further refines skills in nordic jumping and cross country skiing. Athletes continue to develop fundamental skills in jumping or in both disciplines in a more challenging environment. Jumping takes place on jump hills up to and including the HS45 meter jumping hill. Optional competitions are available through the Hitchens Brothers’ Wednesday Night Jump Series, Steamboat Cup Series, and through local and regional U.S. Ski & Snowboard jumping, cross country, and nordic combined competitions.

Requirements
  • Skill requirement: Successful completion of U10 Jumping, Nordic Combined or Ski Meister program or a coach’s recommendation.
  • Equipment: Fees include nordic jumping equipment, but nordic combined participants must have their own cross country skate skiing equipment.
  • Passes: Nordic Combined athletes need a Howelsen Hill ALPINE & NORDIC PASS (Combined) and Jumpers need an Alpine-only pass.
  • Memberships: A U.S. Ski & Snowboard membership is required to compete in U.S. Ski & Snowboard sanctioned events.  A USANS athlete membership is required for the USANS Virtual Nationals and Jr. U.S. Cup events (additional registration required). Renewal deadline is October 15.
  • Age: 10-12 (AGE GROUP GUIDELINES)

ALL TRAINING AT HOWELSEN HILL

Dryland Training: Tuesday, 4-5:30 p.m., Wednesday, and Friday, 4-6 p.m., starting September 24.

On-Snow Training: Wednesday and Friday, 4-6 p.m., Saturday, 9:30-11:30 a.m., through March 15.

 

2024-2025 Program Fee

2024-2025 U12 Ski Jumping Program Fee: $2,375 plus $450 work deposit

  • Payment Plan: SSWSC offers multiple payment options for summer, winter, and year-round program fees. Credit cards, eCheck (ACH bank transfer), cash, and checks are all accepted. We also offer a payment plan option. Find more information HERE.

  • Work Deposit Program: SSWSC requires a work deposit for each family. During the registration process, the program fee listed includes the work deposit. Families can earn back the work deposit by volunteering for SSWSC or opt out of volunteering and donate the work deposit to SSWSC. Find more information on the Work Deposit Program HERE.

  • Ride the SSWSC Bus: SSWSC offers after-school bus transportation from Steamboat Springs public schools to Howelsen Hill for SSWSC elementary and middle school athletes, 1st through 8th grades, on their scheduled training days.
