Cross Country U14, ages 11-14

This program is designed for skiers who wish to focus on improving their cross country skiing skills and fitness for participation at an increased competitive level. Skiers engage in physical conditioning activities, develop a technical base of knowledge and build upon physical skills to improve their cross country skiing. Ample opportunities are available for testing physical fitness and skills through Rocky Mountain Nordic races, Steamboat Cup events, and Steamboat Nordic Race Series.

  • Equipment requirements: Cross country ski equipment for classic and skate.
  • Trail pass information: Participants should purchase a Youth Valley Pass.
  • Competition information: Participants compete in Rocky Mountain Nordic (RMN) Junior National Qualifiers, Steamboat Nordic Race Series, and Steamboat Cup Series.
  • Licensing requirements: Participants will need a U.S. Ski & Snowboard General Membership for Rocky Mountain Nordic races. RMN membership is a required add on to the USSS membership and is automatically added on to USSS Membership Annual Fee.

2023-2024 DATES, TIMES AND LOCATIONS:

Dryland Training: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 4:00-6:00pm starting September 12 at Howelsen Hill.

On-Snow Training: Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday 4:00-6:00pm and Saturday 9:00-12:00 through March 23 at Howelsen Hill or other.

2023-2024 PROGRAM FEE: $3,125 plus $300 refundable work deposit
