Greetings fans for Nordic Combined from the US Continental Cup Team,

We are at the mid point of the second period of Nordic Combined Continental Cup competitions that concluded this past weekend in Erzurum, Turkey.  I apologize for the tardiness of the news.  Getting online was a challenge from the hotel.

SSWSC Nordic Combined Athlete, Erik Lynch, is getting his first start in a World Cup Saturday at the Summer Grand Prix in Oberwiesenthal Germany.  Erik is part of the NC National Training Group (NTG) who have been training in Europe since August 5th. His recent performances in European competitions have earned him a start this weekend.  Congratulations Erik!

Bryan Fletcher (Steamboat Springs, CO)
Bryan Fletcher (Steamboat Springs, CO), who scored his best World Cup finish this year with an 8th, has been named USSA's Nordic Combined Athlete of the Year. Fletcher was a member of the four-person team at the 2011 Nordic World Ski Championships where he helped secure a 4th and 6th place finish in the normal and large hill events.
