SSWSC Adult Cross Country Ski Group

Responding to requests for cross country group sessions for adults, the goal of this program is to bring together cross country skiers for fun, fitness, skill development, and to build community around this lifelong sport. All levels are welcome, whether you are a first-timer hoping to pick up some momentum and basic tips, a cyclist using skiing to build fitness through the winter, or an experienced competitor looking for training to prepare for your next Birkebeiner. The coaching lineup will include David Norris (2023 and 2016 American Birkebeiner Champion, 2023 World Championship team member), Jessica Yeaton (2022 and 2018 Olympian, 2020 American Birkebeiner Champion), Josh Smullin (SSWSC Head Coach, CU Ski Team Alum), Brian Tate (SSWSC Cross Country Program Director), plus guest coaches from our community.

  • Minimum Requirement: Some skiing experience and the ability to ski easy to moderate terrain. Twenty years of age or older.
  • Equipment: Approximately 75% of the sessions will be skate, so skate gear is required. There will be some classic sessions offered. Those planning to participate in these classic days will need waxable classic skis.
