Gigi Boyd Wins Boardercross NorAm, Kendall Harrington Takes Bronze
On February 21, SSWSC athlete Virginia (Gigi) Boyd captured acareer-first boardercross NorAm win at the first race in the Holeshot Tour at Gore Mountain, NY. SSWSC alumna Kendall Harrington joined Gigi on the podium, finishing 3rd for a stellar start to the season for the SSWSC boardercross (SBX) Program. Walker Overstake finished a career-best 8th in SBX to join his already strong alpine snowboard results from this year. On February 22, Harrington snagged another podium spot, earning another bronze medal. According to U.S. Ski & Snowboard, The Holeshot Cross Tour is a competition designed to bridge the gap between grassroots and World Cup level for Snowboard Cross and Ski Cross. The series also brings together athletes across the country to identify the top juniors. Next stop on the Holeshot Cross Tour is Sunday River, Maine, February 25 - March 1. The final stop on the tour is Steamboat Springs, March 14-19, 2024.
