The primary goals of the SSWSC Development Programs are to cultivate a life-long passion for the sport of skiing and the competitive disciplines of alpine and freestyle skiing; to develop the technical and tactical skills necessary to achieve the goals of the individual skier while learning positive life skills (focus, organization, timeliness, self-control, respect of rules and others, discipline in action, etc).
Developmental Programs will emphasize skill development through free skiing in a variety of winter environments, such as trees, powder, moguls, gates and terrain parks. This exposure and mileage becomes the foundation for all future development and success in winter sports. We define success at each age grouping by individual improvements. These programs focus on fun and the development of basic fundamental athletic skills, strength, coordination and stamina.
