2024 NCAA Skiing Championships


Bring your cowbells and your college spirit and come out and cheer on the best collegiate skiers in the country at Steamboat Ski Resort and Howelsen Hill! The city of Steamboat Springs, along with Steamboat Resort and the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, will partner with the University of Colorado to host the 2024 NCAA Ski Championships March 6-9, 2024. The NCAA Championships consist of eight races, with both men’s and women’s Nordic and alpine teams combining to race for the ultimate goal of a National Championship.

Don’t miss the night slalom and festival at Howelsen Hill on Friday, March 8, the only night race in college skiing! FIREWORKS in between first and second run for men and women. The NCAA Ski Championships are one of the top amateur ski events in the world, having a field of skiers filled with past and future Olympians, World Cup skiers and national champions.

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

March 5: Opening Ceremony, base of Steamboat Ski Resort at the stage - 3:30 p.m. (time subject to change)

March 6: Men’s and Women’s Giant Slalom Races on Steamboat Ski Resort/All Out!

  • 9:30 a.m. Men’s GS, first run
  • 10:30 a.m. Women’s GS, first run
  • 12:30 p.m. Men’s GS, second run
  • 1:30 Women’s GS, second run

March 7: 7.5K Interval Start Freestyle Cross Country Races

  • 10 a.m. Men’s, Individual Start Freestyle
  • Noon Women’s Individual Start Freestyle

March 8: Men’s and Women’s Night Slalom Races at Howelsen Hill

  • 6:40 p.m. Women’s Slalom, first run
  • 7:20 p.m. Men’s Slalom, first run
  • FIREWORKS in between first and second run
  • 9 p.m. Women’s Slalom, second run
  • 9:30 p.m. Men’s Slalom, second run

March 9: 20K Mass Start Classic Cross Country Races at Howelsen Hill

  • 10 a.m. Women
  • noon Men
  • Team Awards in Vanatta Field approximately 2:30 p.m. (will confirm next week)

This will be the ninth time Steamboat Springs has played host to the NCAA Ski Championships, the most of any one site in the country, breaking a tie with Bozeman, Mont., with this year’s championship.  This is also the 10th time CU has served as the host of the Championships, the most by any school.
