Successful Mt. Hood Camp for U17/U19 Mogul Team

With the dry winter and spring, the U17/U19 Mogul Team headed to Mt. Hood three weeks earlier than normal for summer on-snow training. Conditions proved to be excellent and the team had a long mogul section providing excellent out-of-competition training, allowing work on body position, tip drive and turn placement. At the bottom of the mogul run was a 4-jump table which allowed for training different jumps for different experience levels. Athletes were able to try their new tricks on snow for the first time as well as hone their existing quiver of jumps.

Summer Progress on the Water Ramps

This summer, our U10 and U13 Freeski athletes have been hard at work on the trampolines and water ramps, building the fundamental skills that will help them succeed when winter returns. While the snow may feel far away, summer training provides a unique opportunity for athletes to focus on movement patterns, body awareness, and technical fundamentals in a safe and controlled environment.

Snowboard Team Returns from Mt. Hood Training Camp

The snowboard team just got back from a fun-filled training camp out at Mt. Hood, OR. This summer, SSWSC partnered with our friends from Crested Butte in an effort to continue to build our relationship with other like-minded athletes and coaches, driving up participation and keeping costs reasonable, while getting to train alongside other dedicated riders with similar goals.

U16 Alpine Athletes Show Strength and Consistency at Sync Cup Finals in Winter Park

March 20-22, the U16 Alpine Team Steam traveled to Winter Park for the SYNC Cup Finals, closing out the season with a competitive and exciting series of races. The girls showed impressive consistency throughout the weekend, a testament to their hard work and resilience after a long season. The men dominated the final race of the weekend, sweeping the podium in Slalom with an outstanding performance and a 2nd place in super G.

TeamSteam Powers Through Tough Conditions at RQS and Devo Mogul Championships in Arapahoe Basin

The Rocky Mountain Freestyle RQS Series and Devo Series Mogul Championships were held at Arapahoe Basin Ski Area from March 12–15. Despite grueling weather conditions that tested not only the athletes but also the dedicated spectators and parents, Team Steam delivered an impressive finish to the season. Christopher Bernitt came in 1st place in RQS M13 singles and 2nd place in RQS duals.

Freeride Team Takes On IFSA A-Basin and Ferrell and Rozwadowski Finish on the Podium

Freeride athletes made the trip to the Arapahoe Basin IFSA 2★, held March 16–17, 2026, taking on A-Basin’s steep, technical terrain against a deep Rocky Mountain field. Leading the way was Reagan Farrell, who charged to a strong 2nd-place finish in the U15 Women’s division, showcasing confident line choice and control on the demanding face. In the U15 Men’s field, Jackson Rozwadowski landed on the podium with 3rd place.

Zoe Chase Wins U19 Women’s Division at IFSA Taos

Freeride athletes traveled to compete at the IFSA events at Taos Ski Valley, held March 10–13, 2026, in challenging and thin snow conditions. At the Taos 2 on March 10, the team delivered some great results, highlighted by Zoe Chase, who claimed 1st place in the U19 Women’s division.

U12 Alpine Athletes Celebrate Focus and Commitment at Championships

U12 Alpine athletes celebrated their focus and commitment to training all season with a fun and festive weekend of ski racing at the RMD U12 Alpine Championships at Powderhorn Mountain Resort March 14-15. Under sunny skies and with springlike conditions, athletes embraced the slalom and giant slalom weekend of competitions with smiles and courage.

Junior Snowboard Team Gains Racing Experience and Team Bonding at Buttermilk USASA

Five athletes from the Junior Snowboard Team traveled to Buttermilk Ski Area for their first ever team travel experience, joining coach Mick Dierdorff, a 2022 Winter Olympian in boardercross. The group competed in two days of racing. Most of the athletes were already in strong positions to qualify for National Championships, so they opted in to the weekend to gain more boardercross experience and continue developing their head-to-head racing skills.
