Snowboard Programs
SSWSC’s snowboard program has a long tradition of developing champions on and off the mountain with a primary focus on developing exceptional fundamental riding skills while embodying SSWSC’s core values of Teamwork, Welcoming, Integrity, Fun and Achieve. SSWSC offers the most diverse range of snowboard programs of any club in the nation, with snowboardcross, freeride, alpine racing, slopestyle, halfpipe, and backcountry programs offered for children as young as four up to competitive athletes preparing for the next Olympics. SSWSC snowboard athletes have competed in every Olympics that have included snowboard in halfpipe, alpine race, and snowboardcross, earning three Olympic medals. For all athletes with a diverse range of goals, SSWSC’s dedicated coaching team strives to challenge, support, inspire, and encourage our riders, instilling a love of the sport and a lifelong passion for snowboarding. SSWSC athletes train at both Steamboat Resort and Howelsen Hill, including the 22’ Maverick’s halfpipe and terrain park at Steamboat Resort, and age-appropriate terrain and training venues and 50’ airbag at Howelsen Hill. In the summer and offseason, athletes train at SSWSC’s strength training center and trampoline facility, as well as through innovative programs combining skateboarding, cycling, and trampoline training.
