Ski Jumping & Nordic Combined Team has Strong Showing at Springer Tournee in Park City

The Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined team made a strong showing at the annual Springer Tournee in Park City, Utah, held July 15–19, 2025. Thirteen athletes, ranging in age from 7 to 17, along with two dedicated coaches, traveled to Utah Olympic Park for a week packed with training, competition, and unforgettable experiences.

The Springer Tournee is one of the premier summer events in the U.S. for ski jumping and Nordic combined, drawing athletes from across the country. Our SSWSC athletes took full advantage of the opportunity, participating in daily training sessions on the jumps and in the gym, culminating in competitions for all age groups.

A highlight of the week was the National Team Mentoring Day, where U.S. National Team athletes and coaches worked directly with our club members. From refining technique on the jumps to strength and conditioning sessions in the gym, the mentorship provided invaluable insight and inspiration for our young athletes.

Throughout the week, many SSWSC athletes achieved personal bests in distance and performance, a testament to their hard work and the supportive training environment. The energy and camaraderie among teammates were palpable, and the athletes represented Steamboat with pride and sportsmanship.

The week concluded with a thrilling Saturday night large hill target jump competition, where SSWSC’s own Miles Warnke soared to victory. His precision and poise earned him the top spot and a podium check for $1,200—an exciting moment for the entire team and a proud achievement for Miles.

This trip was more than just a competition; it was a chance for our athletes to grow, connect with peers from around the country, and gain experience on Olympic-caliber facilities. The memories made and lessons learned will carry forward into the upcoming winter season.

Congratulations to all our athletes and coaches for a successful and inspiring week in Park City!
