The Alpine Snowboard Team earned podium and top-10 finishes at Alpine Ski Club, Val Saint-Côme and Holiday Valley in Race to the Cup Series.
On Feb. 13-14, senior members of the SSWSC Alpine Snowboard Racing Team traveled to Alpine Ski Club to compete in the Race to the Cup series. Competing against a roster that included World Cup racers from the United States and Canada, Sydney Wilson, Brionie Wakooli, Mia Chawner and Cannon Diradour raced in the Parallel Giant Slalom and Parallel Slalom events.
Parallel Giant Slalom results were: Wilson, fourth; Wakooli, sixth; Diradour, 11th; and Chawner, 13th.
Parallel Slalom results were: Wilson, eighth; Wakooli, ninth; Diradour, 15th; and Chawner, 12th.
On Feb. 17-18, members of the SSWSC Alpine Snowboard Racing Team traveled to Val Saint-Côme for the next stop of the Race to the Cup North American Cup series. Facing another strong field of competitors from Australia, the United States and Canada, Wilson, Chawner and Diradour competed in both the Parallel Giant Slalom and Parallel Slalom events.
Parallel Giant Slalom results were: Wilson, third; Diradour, 12th; and Chawner, 13th.
Parallel Slalom results were: Wilson, sixth; Diradour, 10th; and Chawner, 11th.
The final stop of the 2025-26 Race to the Cup North American Cup series took place Feb. 23-24 at Holiday Valley Resort near Buffalo, New York. The full SSWSC Alpine Snowboard Racing Team, led by veteran coach Thedo Remmelink, competed in two Parallel Giant Slalom events.
Women’s Parallel Giant Slalom results were: Wilson, second and 10th; Diradour, 12th and 13th; Wakooli, 13th and fourth; Chawner, 14th and 14th; and Nathalia Dos Reis Monteiro, 17th and 16th.
Men’s Parallel Giant Slalom results were: Abe Cronkhite, 11th; Frantisek Vacek, 13th and 14th; and Rowan Hanaughan, 15th and 12th.
Wilson capped a breakout season by finishing fifth overall in the Race to the Cup North American Cup series.
