Moguls Team (TeamSteam) traveled to Copper Mountain to compete in the Rocky Mountain Freestyle Comp Series Summit Open, held Feb. 20–22, 2026, on the Ore Deal course. SSWSC athletes earned career-best finishes, U17 Women swept the single podium and Sydney Soard finished 2nd overall.
Met with large, widely spaced bumps, athletes used the training day to learn the layout and the importance of patience, allowing the bumps to come to them. The consistently challenging jumps required a stacked body position for strong takeoffs, along with confidence and clear vision for controlled landings.
The team rose to the challenge, taking advantage of two singles events and one duals event, with several athletes posting career-best results.
Sydney Soard, Lyllah Miller and Gigi Lobeck swept the U17 podium in Singles #2. Soard also finished second overall. Miller earned a career-best third overall, and Lobeck secured a career-best fourth. Anouk Bradley placed 13th, and Finley Fontaine recorded a career-best 14th. Lucy Gray finished 18th and Grace Mac 20th, both career bests, while Kensie Ricketts placed 24th.
In Singles #1, Soard finished fourth. Lobeck placed ninth, Bradley 15th, Miller 20th, Ricketts 22nd, Gray 25th and Mac 32nd.
In duals, Soard led TeamSteam with a third-place finish. Lobeck continued her consistent skiing, finishing seventh.
For the men in Singles #1, Cole Anderson placed 12th and Griffin Harvey 14th. Abe Brown finished 22nd and Max Marrs 23rd. In Singles #2, Anderson placed 16th and Harvey 17th. Anderson continued his fast, clean skiing to finish seventh in duals. Marrs narrowly missed defeating a top Rocky Mountain competitor in his duals run.
Moguls athletes are home for a week of training before traveling to Telluride for the Divisional Championships, Mar. 6, 2026 – Mar. 8, 2026. The 2026 U.S. Freestyle Junior National Championships will take place from Mar. 16–22, 2026, in Park City, Utah. and qualifying athletes will be announced next week.
