This summer,
our U10 and U13 Freeski athletes have been hard at work on the trampolines and water ramps, building the fundamental skills that will help them succeed when winter returns. While the snow may feel far away, summer training provides a unique opportunity for athletes to focus on movement patterns, body awareness, and technical fundamentals in a safe and controlled environment.
Throughout the session, we’ve placed a strong emphasis on vision, balance, coordination, and spatial awareness. One of our primary coaching themes has been teaching athletes to use their vision to guide movement like keeping their eyes up, looking where they want to go, and developing the awareness needed for confident and controlled skiing. These skills are
foundational to everything from basic skiing mechanics to advanced freestyle progression.
The athletes have also spent time developing rotational fundamentals, landing mechanics, body control, and air awareness through a combination of trampoline drills, dryland exercises, and water ramp training. By breaking skills down into manageable progressions, athletes have been able to gain confidence while building habits that will transfer directly to snow next season.
Beyond the technical progress, one of the most rewarding aspects of the summer has been
watching the culture that the athletes have created. Both the U10 and U13 groups have
consistently demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship, encouragement, and support for one another. Whether celebrating a teammate’s first jump, cheering on a new trick, or helping a friend work through a challenge, the athletes have created an environment where everyone feels comfortable learning, taking risks, and growing.
Creating a positive and safe training environment is one of our highest priorities, and these
athletes have embraced that responsibility. Their willingness to support one another has helped foster a culture where progress is measured not only by new skills learned, but also by the confidence, resilience, and teamwork they demonstrate each day.
We are incredibly proud of the effort, enthusiasm, and positive attitudes our athletes have
brought to training this summer. We look forward to seeing the hard work they have put in on the ramps translate to confidence and success on snow this winter.
