Five athletes from the Junior Snowboard Team traveled to Buttermilk Ski Area for their first ever team travel experience, joining coach Mick Dierdorff, a 2022 Winter Olympian in boardercross.
The group competed in two days of racing. Most of the athletes were already in strong positions to qualify for National Championships, so they opted in to the weekend to gain more boardercross experience and continue developing their head-to-head racing skills. The trip also gave athletes a chance to experience team travel – navigating competition highs and lows with coach and peer support. Highlights included playing board games at the house and sharing team meals.
