SSWSC Junior Team athletes have been racing throughout Colorado all of June! With local Town Challenge races every other Wednesday, along with Colorado State Champs, and Junior Bike Week in Crested Butte to fill a busy race month of June, SSWSC Junior Team athletes have been embracing mountain bike racing in full spirit. At the young ages of 9-12, Junior Team athletes have been on the start line, shoulder to shoulder with neighboring mountain town junior bike teams, such as Durango Devo, Boulder Junior Cycling, and Aspen Velo. Our athletes are courageously racing DH, Enduro, Short Track, and XC. With just a month left of riding as a team, coaches are super proud of each and every member of our team! Junior Team athletes have put in a tremendous amount of hard work riding since May 5!
Junior Week in Crested Butte – RESULTS
At Junior Bike Week in Crested Butte, SSWSC Junior Team athlete Griffin Curry, placed 7th overall (Boys 8-10yr old division) among the three events of DH, STXC, XC. SSWSC Junior Team athlete Quintin Biagi placed 10th overall (DH, STXC, XC) in Boys 11-12yr old division.
Steamboat Springs Town Challenge – RESULTS
In Town Challenge Mt. Werner Madness on June 25, SSWSC Junior Team athletes Leo Minotto placed 2nd in the Kids A Division, and Robert Pritchard placed 5th in Kids A Division! In Novice division (ages 13-17), 12 year old Harvey Libin placed 3rd!
