The Rocky Central FIS Alpine Championships took place at Copper Mountain March 4 - 7, 2025. Battling challenging conditions both giant slalom and slalom days SSWSC athletes still managed to pull off top-ten results.

The U18 National Alpine Championships wrapped up in Aspen, Colorado, on March 3, 2025, and SSWSC athlete Abby Olson is the U18 National Champion in downhill and giant slalom and the overall U18 National Alpine Champion for the women and Owen Wither is 4th overall for the men.

The first day of the NCAA Skiing Championships is underway, and SSWSC alum Bode Flanigan, Boston College, takes home the bronze with a 3rd place in the men's slalom. Way to go, Bode!

The SSWSC Big Mountain Team ski and snowboard athletes traveled to Crested Butte during Blues Break February 19-23 to compete in the 2025 Crested Butte IFSA Junior 3*. On qualifying days athletes competed in the Hawk's Nest Venue. Through the cliffs, bumps, and airs, SSWSC qualified six out of our 11 athletes for the finals.

TeamSteam's Rocky Qualifier Series Moguls Team showed up at Vail on February 22 to a short, relatively flat course, very different from what they usually ski. After some initial challenges, the 12 SSWSC athletes adjusted to the new venue, and solid top-to-bottoms became the norm.

Instead of heading to the beach, six U17/U19 mogul athletes spent February 22 and 23 at the Rocky Mountain Freestyle Competitive Series Southwest Classic in Telluride. With beautiful, blue sky weather, the athletes hit the famed Hermit Mogul Course, embracing the changing conditions on the course, from the icy, steep top section to the flat, abrupt bumps through the middle and back to steeps for the bottom section.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced the men’s and women’s selections for the 2025 National Collegiate Skiing Championships on March 5-8, 2025. 74 men and 74 women were selected to compete and six athletes chosen to compete are SSWSC alumni—Bode Flanigan, Boston College (alpine), Nicholas Unkovskoy, Middlebury (alpine), Hannah Soria, Colby College (alpine), Isabelle Washburn, Dartmouth College (alpine), Chase High, St. Scholastica (nordic), and Grey Barbier, Montana State (nordic). SSWSC currently has 35 athletes skiing at the collegiate NCAA level in alpine and cross country (nordic).

Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (SSWSC) snowboard athlete Walker Overstake has qualified to represent the U.S. in the 2025 FIS Snowboard Alpine Junior World Championships and teammate Sam Carpenter has qualified to represent Great Britain.
