Since 1914, Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club has nurtured generations of athletes and a passion for winter sports. We serve nearly 1,200 athletes annually, representing almost 50% of school-aged kids in Steamboat, and the percentage is higher with kids 5th grade or younger.
Your support helps us offer programs for all these champions. Some will rise to compete on the national and international stage. All will learn a champion mindset through our core values: Welcoming, Teamwork, Integrity, Achieve, and most importantly, FUN! Inspiring passion for the pursuit of personal and athletic excellence will drive all future success.
Donations are needed to support programs and operations, enhance scholarships and access, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization. Be a champion for SSWSC and help ensure we can continue the mission of creating champions on and off the mountain each and every day.
Annual Campaign
Each year SSWSC launches an Annual Campaign promoting three ongoing funds: The Annual Fund, The Scholarship Fund, and The Endowment. In addition to these funds, SSWSC may also pursue various capital campaigns or special projects.
More Information on the Annual Campaign Goals
Annual Fund
The Annual Fund bridges the gap between revenue from program fees and program expenses. All donations to the Annual Fund directly support program staffing, equipment, and direct program expenses.
Supporting the Annual Fund maintains a tradition of the highest-quality programming and accessibility. This makes SSWSC a community-oriented organization without sacrificing our commitment to
excellence.
Scholarships
For many years, SSWSC has worked to ensure that athletes from diverse economic backgrounds have access to our programs. In just the past ten years, our scholarship support has grown from approximately $100,000 to over $600,000, and we expect this to continue to rise as we strive to meet the need.
Need-Based Scholarship Distribution
90% of our scholarship dollars are distributed based on financial need, making it possible for many athletes to participate who would not be able to without this support.
Need-Based Scholarship Distribution based on Adjusted Gross Income:
Families with AGI of less than $100,000 = 55.40%
Families with AGI of less than $125,000 = 66.20%
Families with AGI of less than $150,000 = 77.30%
Families with AGI of less than $175,000 = 90.70%

Endowment
Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club Foundation holds investments and assets to ensure the future sustainability of SSWSC. The Foundation provides support for enhanced staffing, compensation and benefits, scholarships, and other expenses from reserves. Assets of the Foundation support SSWSC programs and its mission today, while continuing to grow financial resources for the future.
