Summer & Winter Alpine Racing

U18/U21 FIS Alpine Racing

The U18/U20 FIS alpine racing program is a comprehensive year-round competitive program designed to develop motivated competitors’ skiing skills to their fullest potential. All aspects of competitive skiing will be covered, including physical conditioning, technical and tactical development, equipment preparation, education, mental skills training, video analysis, performance planning, and more. Participants will compete in U.S. Ski & Snowboard and FIS level competitions in the Rocky Mountain Division and may include out-of-division racing as qualified. Individual goal setting will be used to direct a year-long training plan to help these racers reach their goals.

Athletes participate in directed and supervised strength and conditioning in the summer and fall. The dryland program is designed to give ski racers off-season guidance and coaching in off-snow preparation for winter training and establish a strong strength and conditioning base for higher-intensity training in the fall. Strong and well-conditioned ski racers are able to maintain their technique and a fast racing line in progressively more difficult situations, recover more quickly from long on-snow training and competition days, and decrease the chance of injury. Coaching will focus on proper movement patterns, emphasizing a full range of motion. This program is for skiers born in 2010 or earlier.
