U14 Cross Country

U14 Cross Country is designed for young skiers focused on improving their cross country skiing skills and fitness for participation at an increased competitive level. Skiers engage in fall dryland conditioning activities, develop a technical base of knowledge, and build upon skills to improve their cross country technique and competencies. Training concepts, pacing, race strategy, and technique for performance are introduced in this program. Competing is not required, but encouraged in the available opportunities through Rocky Mountain Nordic races, Steamboat Cup events, and local races.

Dryland Training: Starting September 15
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 4-6 p.m. at Howelsen Hill

On-Snow Training: As soon as snow conditions permit through March 13
Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 4-6 p.m. and Saturday, 9 a.m.-noon at Howelsen Hill or other local nordic centers.
