Winter Junior Coaching

Junior Coach Intern

Junior Coaching Programs are designed to mentor and inspire middle to high school-aged youth to explore sport from a coaching perspective. The Junior Coach program fosters the development of leadership skills, organizational skills, independence, communication, professionalism, public speaking, commitment, and follow-through. Participants will gain knowledge on the progressions of foundational skiing skills and technical knowledge of alpine skiing while also exploring the theory of coaching. The program welcomes youth to be a member of the SSWSC in a non-competitive environment while sharing their passion for snowsports.

The Junior Coach Intern program is for those individuals interested in exploring the path of coaching. Interns will earn high school intern or work-based learning credit for the spring semester and have the option to participate in the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA) Certification Level 1.
