Junior Team is for intermediate to experienced riders ages 10-13 who are motivated to improve their fitness and technical skills. It is the next step for those that have previous experience with the Youth Mountain Bike or Adventure Team programs. Junior Team focuses on inspiring, encouraging, and empowering young athletes to achieve their potential on and off the bike. This program is designed to foster a lifelong passion for mountain biking and develop a well-rounded foundation of skills needed to excel in both cross country and enduro disciplines. Training sessions will be focused on trail riding with an emphasis on building endurance and descending skills such as cornering, braking and jumps and drops. Fridays will be longer adventure days with potential training at the Steamboat bike park or day trips to Winter Park. Day trips will incur an additional fee. Racing in the Town Challenge series is not required, but encouraged as a great way to learn, have fun and develop skills along the way. Groups will preride Town Challenge courses on race weeks and have coach support at the races.
Athletes can choose either two-day (Monday and Wednesday) or three-day (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) weekly schedule
.
