SSWSC was out in full force October 11–12 at the 2025/2026 U.S. National Ski Jumping Championships in Lake Placid, New York. A total of 16 athletes from the Rocky Mountain Division — including 7 current SSWSC members and 9 alumni — competed on the HS100 and HS128 hills for national titles.
SSWSC alum Annika Belshaw continued her reign of dominance, claiming her fifth consecutive National Championship title on the large hill. Teammates Alexa Brabec and Ella Wilson also delivered strong performances, finishing 4th and 5th, respectively.
In the men’s competition, SSWSC Jason Colby earned his first-ever National Championship title, a major milestone in his career. He was closely followed by fellow Steamboat athletes Erik Belshaw and Decker Dean, who placed 4th and 5th.
Due to challenging wind conditions, the HS100 event was limited to a single round of jumps. Despite the disruption, the athletes stayed focused and resilient. Alexa Brabec secured the top spot in the women’s field, while Jason Colby added a silver medal to his weekend accomplishments in the men’s class.
Seven current SSWSC athletes competed alongside seasoned World Cup jumpers — a valuable and demanding experience. Among them, Sawyer Graves and Arthur Tirone stood out with eye-catching performances that impressed coaches and spectators alike.
They were joined by Ethan Maines, Austin Johnson, Miles Warnke, and Nico Bowdre, who all gained valuable experience and represented the club with grit, focus, and determination. The future of ski jumping at SSWSC is looking strong.
Following the competition, the team opted to remain in Lake Placid for an additional week of training. With its Olympic-caliber facilities and status as the most modern jumping venue in North America, it offers a rare opportunity for high-quality year-round training — crucial preparation as the team awaits the winter season back home.
