This summer, the U13 athletes at SSWSC put in some incredible work both on the trampolines and the water ramps. Athletes started by building strong foundations on the trampolines, where they practiced spins and flips, then carried those skills over to the ramps, where they launched into the lake. A big focus throughout the summer was vision, training athletes to keep their eyes up, focused on the horizon, and where they want to be going. We used creative exercises like jumping on and off logs with rotations, which translated directly into stronger, more controlled movements on the trampolines and ramps.
Every athlete had their own set of goals, and it was exciting to watch them push their limits. Whether it was finally landing a front or backflip on the trampoline, cork and misty progressions, or working toward a clean rotation on the water ramps, the progress across the group was undeniable. One hard worker this summer was Camille, a dedicated U13 mogul skier who came in determined from day one. She started the summer by stomping her backflip on the trampolines and then went on to perfect her 360s on the water ramps. Her hard work and focus set a great example for the entire group.
Overall, the U13 athletes showed tremendous determination, growth, and enthusiasm for learning. Even though not everyone could train all summer long, the progress was evident in every session. We are excited to see how these skills carry over into the winter season!
