
Two current athletes and one alumni from the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club were named to the 2026 FIS Junior World Championships U.S. Snowboard Alpine team. The event will take place in Folgaria, Italy, March 25-29, 2026. Events include parallel giant slalom, parallel slalom, and mixed team.
Current athlete Brionie Wakooli was named to the women’s team. Current athlete Rowan Hanaughan and alumni Walker Overstake were named to the men’s team.
Brionie Wakooli competed in the Nor-Am Cup with a season highlight of 2nd place at the Parallel Giant Slalom event in Steamboat Springs, CO. Rowan Hanaughan, in his 1st FIS competition season, competed in the Nor-Am Cup with season highlights of 4th place at the Parallel Giant Slalom event in Steamboat Springs and 4th place in the Parallel Slalom event in Afton Alps, MN. Alumni Walker Overstake is competing in the European and World Cups, with a season highlights of 3rd place in the Parallel Giant Slalom Team event in Simonhohe, Austria, 6th place in the Parallel Giant Slalom event in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, and 8th place in the Parallel Slalom Team Event in Bad Gastein, Austria.
