Steamboat Hosts Ski Town U.S.A. Moguls Comp

SSWSC and Steamboat Resort hosted the Ski Town USA Moguls Competition for Rocky Mountain Freestyle February 8-9, 2026. Ninety-six athletes competed from Colorado and Utah. With 50-degree days and 20-degree nights, Voodoo saw rock-hard conditions in the morning and soft, practically slushy conditions for 2nd run. Thanks to many landing choppers, the course stayed in reasonable shape for the duration of the event.

TeamSteam had 13 competitors who all skied at least one solid, top-to-bottom run. In changing snow conditions, adjusting quickly was the key to success. Sydney Soard led the ladies, placing 5th in singles and 7th in duals. Lyllah Miller was 12th in singles and 16th in duals, Gigi Lobeck placed 13th in singles and 8th in duals, Anouk Bradley was 17th in both singles and duals (third for U19 in singles), Kensie Ricketts placed 31st in singles and 11th in duals, Lucy Gray was 35th in singles and 31st in duals, Finley Fontaine was 33rd in singles and 22nd in duals and Grace Mac placed 40th in singles and 34th in duals.

For the gentlemen, Cole Anderson was 10th in duals and 8th in singles, Max Marrs was 32nd in duals and 50th in singles, Griffin Harvey was 4th in duals and 10th in singles, and Abe Brown was 43rd in singles.

The athletes head to Copper for the next competition during Blues Break. Think snow!
