Ski jumping and nordic combined athletes and three coaches made the trip to Fox River Grove, Illinois, to compete at the historic Norge Ski Club — and they didn’t disappoint!
A total of 21 SSWSC athletes took part in the event, facing off against top competitors from around the region. Along with the ski jumping competition, the team also tackled a roller ski race, where the Steamboat crew absolutely crushed the course, showing off their endurance and speed.
Despite the intense 90-plus degree heat, the athletes powered through a challenging training camp and competition weekend. Conditions were tough, but the Steamboat team stayed focused, determined, and positive throughout.
Their hard work paid off — the Winter Sports Club athletes showed up strong, jumped big, and delivered fantastic results across all age groups. The weekend was a true testament to their grit, teamwork, and love for the sport.
A huge shoutout goes to the athletes for their effort and attitude, and to the coaches for leading by example in such tough conditions. The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club continues to make its mark wherever they go — even when the snow is swapped for sunshine and roller skis!
