SSWSC launched a new middle school mountain bike fall camp late summer for 6th-8th grade riders, designed to give athletes a sense of what joining the high school mountain bike team looks like. Six athletes joined the camp and embraced the new challenge of training for racing with interval work and race strategy.
Also new this year, the Colorado High School Cycling League has built an exciting, fun, and challenging mountain bike course exclusively for middle school athletes to race! 7th and 8th graders are eligible for Middle School Mayhem Races on September 12, 13, 26, and 27 in Eagle, Colorado. Several Junior Team athletes are competing in Eagle and have the opportunity to be mentored and supported by the Steamboat High School Mountain Bike Team on September 26!
