From July 7–11, 2026, 25 Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined athletes from the Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club, ranging in age from 7 to 18, headed to Park City, Utah, for the 27th Annual Jindro Mayer Springer Tournee. Accompanied by coaches Karl Denney, Decker Dean, Kristen Van Wyk, and Todd Wilson, our athletes represented one-third of the 75 total participants gathered for this hallmark summer event!
The Springer Tournee serves as a vital gathering for the North American Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined community, blending elite competition with skill development and camaraderie. Throughout the action-packed week, athletes participated in structured training camps, educational and resource sessions, and social events designed to bring together athletes, coaches, parents, officials, and volunteers.
A standout highlight of the week was Mentorship Day, where national team athletes spent dedicated time working directly with the next generation of jumpers and Nordic combined skiers. Most national team members also lined up to compete, giving our young athletes the unique thrill of sharing the hill with the nation’s best!
Competitions spanned every age class on all hills for both Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined, giving SSWSC athletes a fantastic platform to showcase their hard work, technique, and summer progress. From our youngest 7-year-old jumper taking on new hills to our 18-year-old veteran athletes testing their skills against top national talent, the energy and sportsmanship from the entire SSWSC crew was inspiring.
