Welcome New Director of Finance Karen Wolf

We are thrilled to announce that Karen Wolf will join SSWSC as Director of Finance on May 1, 2025, a position currently held by Amy Burkholder. Amy will continue to work full-time until the end of May, helping to close out the fiscal year, and will help throughout the summer with the transition.

Karen brings over two decades of leadership in corporate finance, primarily with Western Union in Denver. During her tenure, she served as Vice President of Corporate & Shared Services Finance, where she oversaw the global forecasting and planning processes and overall consolidation of company performance and results, including annual planning processes, quarterly forecasts, and strategic long-range planning. In addition, Karen has served as treasurer of the board of the Western Union Foundation for the past five years.

A Steamboat Springs homeowner for more than 17 years, Karen is excited to join SSWSC and be a part of this highly respected and successful organization, which supports youth development and instills a love for the outdoors. A lifelong alpine skier, Karen began skiing at age five in Toronto, and then later moved to Nebraska for Middle School through College, and spent considerable time on Colorado ski trips, mainly to Steamboat Spring. Karen’s husband, Mark, is the Outfitter Center Manager at Catamount Ranch & Club. They have two sons, who both participated in SSWSC and are avid alpine skiers.

Karen holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Nebraska and an MBA from Nova-Southeastern University. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
