Snowboard Athletes Come Out in Force for the USASA Comp in Steamboat
SSWSC hosted two USASA events at Steamboat Resort, March 1-2, 2025—Saturday slopestyle and Sunday halfpipe. The competitions were the last two regional USASA events of the season, and based on results from the comp in Steamboat, many athletes secured points to receive an invitation to the US Snowboard National Championships at Copper Mountain on March 28-April 3, 2025. At the Steamboat comp, SSWSC had 28 snowboard athletes from four snowboard programs compete in these events, including two first-time USASA competitors.
Highlights include two days of sunny weather and perfect conditions, fun with Summit County friends ripping our home mountain, athletes continuing to step outside their comfort zones and push their limits, athletes not afraid to take a chance and give their more difficult competition runs a solid try, and a loud and excited audience cheering on athletes from the sidelines.
