Mogul Athletes Bring Home Multiple Top Ten Finishes from Telluride Comp
Instead of heading to the beach, six U17/U19 mogul athletes spent February 22 and 23 at the Rocky Mountain Freestyle Competitive Series Southwest Classic in Telluride. With beautiful, blue sky weather, the athletes hit the famed Hermit Mogul Course, embracing the changing conditions on the course, from the icy, steep top section to the flat, abrupt bumps through the middle and back to steeps for the bottom section. With strong skiers from all over the state, TeamSteam focused on top to bottom runs.
Gigi Lobeck had her best finishes of the season with two top 10s. Anouk Bradley ended just out of the money on the first run, in 11th, but did earn 10th on the second run, her best finish of the season. Lyllah Miller earned 12th. For boys, congrats to Henry Crump for competing in his first back tucks! Henry placed 4th for M17 in the first comp and 8th for M17 in the second. Griffin Harvey was 5th for M17 in the first comp and 6th for M17 in the second comp. Jack Perkins laid one down, placing 6th overall in the first comp.
The athletes have a week of training to hone their skills before returning to Telluride for Rocky Mountain Freestyle Divisional Champs, March 6-9, 2025.
