Anabel Ayad Finishes 2nd Overall in Moguls NorAm Tour

SSWSC mogul athlete Anabel Ayad wrapped up the Moguls NorAm Tour with an impressive second-place finish in singles, capping off a challenging competition weekend on March 7-8 in Val St. Come, Quebec. The event featured typical East Coast weather, with temperatures reaching 45°F and rain followed by a sudden drop to bitterly cold conditions. The mogul course went from slushy to icy, creating difficult, hard bumps for the athletes. Qualifications took place during the day, while finals were held at night, illuminated by lights.
Ayad skied into second place during qualifications before facing a 7.5-hour wait for the finals to begin. She was third in Finals 1, but rallied in Finals 2 to finish the night in second place.
The only other TeamSteam athlete in attendance, Peyton Billeisen, narrowly missed the top 16 in qualifications, finishing in 24th place.
The NorAm Tour consists of eight events held across the U.S. and Canada, with competitors hailing from the U.S., Canada, Australia, and Ireland. The Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (SSWSC) sent a strong team to various stops, including three athletes to Deer Valley, five to Apex, Canada, and Stratton, VT, and two to Val St. Come, Quebec. Anabel Ayad and Peyton Billeisen skied all eight competitions, Liam Siefken participated in all events except Val St. Come, and Claire Boyle and Mia Satkiewicz skied four events at Apex and Stratton.
With the final Tour results now announced, Ayad secured second place overall for single moguls, finishing as the top American, and fourth place overall in both single and dual moguls.
