SSWSC Athletes Post Incredible Results at 2025 FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships

The 2025 FIS Alpine Junior World Ski Championships (JWSC) wrapped up in Tarvisio, Italy on March 6, 2025. Two current Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athletes—Jeremy Nolting and Logan Grosdidier and one SSWSC alum, Tatum Grosdidier (U.S. Ski Team/University of Utah Ski Team) qualified to compete in the events. The JWSC included a downhill, super-G, giant slalom, and slalom, and the team alpine combined events showcasing the talents of the top junior alpine athletes in the world, some who already are strong performers on the World Cup. Over 300 athletes competed over the 10-day event, which featured each nation’s best junior athletes ages 16-20. Eight men and eight women qualified to race for the USA.

SSWSC’s Jeremy Nolting had a stellar performance at the 2025 Junior World Ski Championships (JWSC) qualifying to compete in all four disciplines. Races began with the downhill and super-G races, where Nolting was in the top twenty in both events, placing 14th in the downhill on February 27 and 18th in the super-G on March 1. In the technical events in giant slalom and slalom, Nolting was the top American in both races—8th place in the giant slalom on March 4 and 12th place in the slalom on March 6. Nolting finished every JWSC event in the top twenty—no other skier was in the top 20 in all four disciplines. In fact, no other skier was in the top 15 in three of the disciplines. Nolting’s individual performances are uniquely impressive over the entire event and difficult to achieve because he skis and trains in all four disciplines compared to his competition, many of whom specialize in just a few disciplines.

SSWSC’s Logan Grosdidier competed in the super-G, giant slalom, and slalom races as one of the youngest racers in the field. In the women’s super-G race, Grosdidier landed a top-twenty finish with a 19th place. Grosdidier and US Teammate Kjersti Moritz placed 7th overall in the team combined (one run of super-G and one slalom run). Her standout race was the giant slalom on March 3, where she was the top U18 woman and had the fastest second run time, moving up from 30th after the first run to 7th overall. Grosdidier’s 7th place finish in giant slalom was the best finish for a 16-year-old at the World Juniors since Lara Colturi in 2023. (Two years later, Colturi has podiums in the World Cup in giant slalom and slalom already).

SSWSC alum Tatum Grosdidier (U.S. Ski Team/University of Utah Ski Team) also had a great race series with two finishes in the top twenty, giant slalom 17th and slalom 16th. She was also 20th in the team combined event with US skier Kaitlin Keane.

Logan Grosdidier’s and Nolting’s top 10 finishes contributed points to help the USA finish fourth among all nations in the Marc Hodler Trophy for the strongest nation at the event.
