Head Tele Race Coach
Shane is in his third year of coaching with SSWSC.  He is also a member of the US Telemark Ski Team.  The SSWSC provides a program in which he is able to pass on training and racing techniques to the next generation of telemark athletes.  With the support of SSWSC Shane achieved 2007 National Telemark Champion.  He also enjoys taking his athletes on trips to Europe where under his guidance has never been lost or put the wrong type of fuel in the car.   Shane splits his time between Steamboat Springs and Cody Wyoming.  There just isn’t enough snow in Cody in the winter to make him happy.

Cara is a 13 year resident of Steamboat Springs and has been a coach for the SSWSC telemark team for 6 years. Cara loves passing on her passion for telemark skiing and loves teaching the kids to be good all around telemark skiers, whether its bumps, trees or chutes. Cara owns her own business in town and is a Registered Dietitian and personal trainer and has a passion for sports nutrition and wellness. In her spare time she loves everything outdoors, including trail running and mountain biking, and directs the Steamboat Springs Running Series in the summer. Cara loves working with kids and holds programs for getting young girls active in outdoor sports in the summer, Ski Fitness classes in the fall, has medic and avalanche level I training and is married to fellow tele coach Dave Marrs.
