We are excited to announce that the VF corporation, (the parent company of Smartwool), has made a donation of 1.5 million dollars to the SSWSC for the Barrows Chairlift Replacement project. The Barrows chairlift which supports our Alpine Slide operation and our winter training has come to the end of its operating life. The SSWSC has partnered with the city of Steamboat Springs to replace this chairlift in the summer of 2021.

The chairlift project signifies the city’s ongoing commitment to Howelsen Hill and their support of our training efforts at Howelsen Hill. In securing this donation for the chairlift, the SSWSC satisfies some of our long term obligations to the city and solidifies the future of Howelsen Hill as our training facility and home as well as a community asset.
