Dryland

Last Thursday, SSWSC athletes had the opportunity to showcase their dryland training skills with ME Engineers Inc. employees during an international engineering conference held at the Steamboat Grand. 10 SSWSC athletes and their coaches joined the corporate group during the conference lunch break to inspire the attendees to get up and move. Athletes excelled in their leadership roles of instructing and leading the engineers through a series of workouts and tests of athleticism.  Engineers were encouraged to participate and ask questions of the athletes, who focused their sessions on the importance of movement, strength, and balance through box jumps, agility courses, and even flight practice on the roller jump! Thank you to the coaches and athletes who came together for this fun community outreach!

Cycling

The cycling athletes have been working on their skills! From jumping boxes, getting air, climbing steps,  balancing through water and tuning their own bikes, these athletes are learning the in’s and out’s of mountain biking!

Freestyle

The Freestyle team had a unique opportunity last weekend to practice their jumps at the water ramps during Balloon Rodeo of Rainbow Weekend. Surrounded by crowds of early morning balloon spectators, athletes took flight just as hot air balloons lifted off the ground around them. Their athleticism added to the balloon show, and earned them some cheering! Part of Balloon Rodeo involved the hot air balloons touching down on the lake’s surface, which made for optimum photos of the athletes and balloons!

The summer has been incredible out at the Water Ramps. We would encourage anyone who has not been out there to come out and visit to see what’s it all about. Training goes on every morning starting at 7:30. Every age group, (U10 – High Performance), at different times.

The progress we’ve seen from our athletes has been amazing with everyone enjoying the work atmosphere and really focusing on the process. Work could never be this hard and fun!
