Freestyle

Second stop on the Nor-Am Tour was in Killington, Vermont. As this was a US stop we had some younger members of the team join us from Steamboat, including Bubba Antkiewicz and First time Nor-Am athletes Kenzie Radway and Landon Wendler.

Apart from two extremely cold weather days the snow conditions, mogul course and even the appearance of the sun meant it was one of the nicest events we have attended on the East coast in a very long time.

The team hit the ground running, training hard and well over the two official training days. It was clear Team Steam meant business at this stop on the Nor-Am Tour.

Please find below the Singles and Duals results.

45th Bubba (Wyatt) Antkiewicz

I would like to make a special mention to Kenzie Radway and Landon Wendler as this was their first Nor-Am competition. Their approach and focus throughout the week was exceptional, competing at this high level competition can sometimes be a little daunting. However, they both put down their runs on Singles day and qualified for Finals. This is an amazing achievement to achieve a top 16 result in your first Nor-Am competition.

Paul Holmes (Bobby’s friend who very kindly had the team stay with him) is professional photographer. Here is a link to his website where you can access photos that he took over the weekend.

Freeskiing

The past two weeks have been busy ones for the Freeskiing team starting with a Half Pipe and Slopestyle competition in Aspen Feb. 3rd and 4th.  We had two beautiful days of competition which made for some great skiing from the team.  Some highlights from Aspen were David Schlicht finishing 4th in Half Pipe and 3rd in Slopestyle in the 12-13 age group, along with Liam Baxter winning both Pipe and Slope in the 14-15 age group.

Last weekend the team was in Keystone competing against a large field for Slopestyle.  We again lucked out with a beautiful sunny day and had some great runs put down.  Highlights from the weekend include Cael McCarthy taking 3rd place in the biggest age group 12-13 boys, Michael MacBlane getting his first Rocky Mountain Series USASA podium with 3rd place in 16-17 Mens, Riley Jacobs skiing great as always getting 1st in 14-15 girls, and Liam Baxter taking first place not only in 14-15 boys but the overall top score for the AFP rankings which include 14-17&open class.
