Cross Country

The SSWSC XC Team took to the Routt County roads on Saturday July 20th , as 15 athletes and 6 coaches took part in the Tour de Steamboat. About half of the total SSWSC affiliates rode the 116 mile “Gore Gruel”, with the other riders taking on the 66 mile route out to Yampa and back. One athlete, Simon Zink, successfully competed the inaugural 100 mile gravel ride. The XC Team thanks Steve and Pam Williams for donating a significant portion of the athletes entry fees. It was a great day to be on a bike!

Nordic Combined

We just returned from Park City, UT where we competed in two competitions: Springer Tournee and US National Championships

Springer Tournee is an annual competition hosted on all hill sizes and for all ages in Park City.  It attracts the largest number of athletes of any event of the year from all across North America.

We host Senior National Championships in the summer (weird I know) and this weekend was a big one for us!  There were 4 National Championship events: Mens Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined and Women’s Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined. 

Everyone jumped the Hill Size 100-meter hill (HS100) and the NC athletes skied a 4km race uphill.
