18 Athletes Qualify for Jump/Nordic Combined Junior Nationals in Park City, UT

SSWSC Ski Jump and Nordic Combined athletes showcased their talent at the final Junior Championship Qualifier in Park City, UT, held from January 31 to February 2. A strong contingent of 34 athletes, ranging from U10 to U16, represented SSWSC at the event.

Despite challenging weather conditions, the team rose to the occasion. Heavy, wet snow impacted Saturday’s schedule, requiring last-minute adjustments to ensure the large hills were completed. On Friday night, organizers quickly revised plans to accommodate the changes.

The U14 and U16 athletes were vying for a spot on the Rocky Mountain Division (RMD) Junior Championship Team, and several stepped up to secure their place. Notable performances included Miles Warnke, threw down some long jumps to land on top of the podium on the HS68.

The U14 athletes also made their mark, with MacKenzie Maines claiming first place in her class on the HS68, while Langdon Devin took third place in the U16 class.
