The U.S. Cross Country Junior Nationals took place last week, March 11-16, in Lake Placid, NY., the 1980 Winter Olympic Games site. Fifteen Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club athletes qualified for the Junior Nationals, and 13 attended the event along with three SSWSC coaches to represent the Rocky Mountain region in the races. Cross Country Athlete Tristan Thrasher brings home bronze in freestyle skate race and SSWSC athletes bring home multiple top-10 results.

Logan Grosdidier emerged as a force to be reckoned with, clinching victory in all four events, super g, giant slalom, slalom, and alpine combined, a commendable second-place finish in the downhill and secured the women's overall win. A group of U16 alpine athletes headed to beautiful Crested Butte to compete in the U16 R/C Showdown, March 7- 10. The Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined Team just returned from the final competition of the season last weekend. Twenty-four eager athletes, U10 through U16, made the trip to Park City, Utah, for the 2024 Western Regional Championships. Aspen Snowmass hosted the latest World Cup men’s races from March 1-3. The event included two GS races and one slalom. The U16 alpine team attended the GS race on March 2 and volunteered their time to help with the slip and course crew.

After more than a week of epic snowfall, postponements, and cancellations, the U18 National Championships operations crew in Jackson, Wyoming, pulled off six of the ten races planned for the week. SSWSC athletes took home medals in every discipline. Noelle Roth took home the U18 National Championship slalom title and Katharina Cosby was 2nd overall on the series for the women, and Adrian Beauregard was 3rd overall for the men.

The Freestyle Moguls Team competed in Winter Park February 3-4 in the Rocky Mountain Freestyle competition, Winter Heat in Winter Park. The competition took place on the famed Ambush course.
