Greetings From Mt. Hood!
A quick update with the latest. In two days time Mt Hood has thrown us the full spectrum of weather. Day one was a spectacular Mt Hood day. Sunny, warm, beautiful and a wonderful way to get the camp off the ground. We skied hard, did a lot of skill work and found our balance on our skis. Today however we had another classic Mt Hood day as we were rained out. Instead the kids went for a hike, played capture the flag and had a recovery/fun/stretching/play session in the pool with Wendy Puckett. Other highlights: amazing food! Salmon, mashed potatoes and salad was tonight’s menu. Chalk talks each day and evening – topics covered so far are routines, ski tactics or gate running and group dynamics (being kind and a good teammate). We have an aggressive schedule each day – we wake at 5am, load van at 6, depart at 6:10 and load the lift at 7am. The kids have handled this without a problem. Dinner is at 5:30, team meeting at 6:30 and lights out at 8pm. The kids need to eat well and be in bed early to maintain the stamina necessary for all the activity at the camp. So far so good. Hope you enjoy the shots. More to come later.
Cheers, Deb
